Mechanism of Action:
Droperidol is a butyrophenone derivative that blocks dopamine receptors in the brain.
Uses:
It's used primarily to reduce nausea and vomiting after surgery. It can also be used for the treatment of psychosis in very high doses.
Side Effects:
Side effects may include drowsiness, dizziness, and restlessness. It can also cause changes in heart rhythm.
