Methyl Alcohol (Methanol) Definition
- Methyl Alcohol, also known as Methanol, is the simplest alcohol with the chemical formula CH₃OH.
- It consists of a methyl group (CH₃–) linked to a hydroxyl group (–OH).
Structure:

- Molecular Structure: Consists of a single carbon atom bonded to three hydrogen atoms and one hydroxyl group (-OH).
- Geometry: Tetrahedral around the carbon atom.
Uses:
