1. Anti-Tubercular Agents

  • Synthetic Agents:
    • Isoniazid, Ethionamide, Ethambutol, Pyrazinamide, Para-amino salicylic acid: Inhibit mycobacterial cell wall synthesis or metabolism.
  • Antibiotics:
    • Rifampicin, Rifabutin: RNA synthesis inhibitors.
    • Cycloserine, Streptomycin, Capreomycin sulfate: Inhibit protein or cell wall synthesis.

2. Urinary Tract Anti-Infective Agents

  • Quinolones:
    • SAR includes substitutions enhancing potency and spectrum.
    • Examples: Nalidixic acid, Norfloxacin, Enoxacin, Ciprofloxacin, Ofloxacin, Lomefloxacin, Sparfloxacin, Moxifloxacin.
